About
The journey of Van Isle Bead Supply began when Chloe became a mother. In the midst of navigating the joys and challenges of motherhood, she sought a creative outlet to find a sense of purpose beyond the demands of daily life. It was during this time that she discovered the therapeutic nature of beadwork. This newfound passion not only helped Chloe cope with postpartum depression but also reconnected her with her cultural roots.
As Chloe delved deeper into her craft, she noticed that the cost of beads and supplies was prohibitively expensive. This realization sparked an idea: to source beads and supplies more affordably and offer them to other artists in the community. What began as a small endeavor soon blossomed into Van Isle Bead Supply, a thriving business dedicated to supporting and revitalizing Indigenous culture through art.
Our Mission
At Van Isle Bead Supply, our mission is to make beading and other artistic supplies accessible to everyone, particularly within Indigenous communities. We believe in the power of art to heal, inspire, and connect us to our heritage. Our goal is to support artists by providing high-quality, affordable materials and fostering a sense of community through shared creativity.
Embracing Heritage
Beading has always been more than just a craft for us; it is a vital link to our past and a bridge to our future. Through our work, we strive to preserve and celebrate Indigenous culture, ensuring it remains a vibrant and integral part of our lives and those of future generations. We are honored to play a role in helping our community members reconnect with their heritage through beading, sewing, and various forms of artwork.
